Well, I figured since I am finishing my work early again today and I now have more time to blog, I’ll blog about Christmas first. (I can’t post new year yet since I’m on Social media except blog and TV fasting). It was a great day. Had two parties from both sides. First was for my mom’s side where we had lunch at Ma. Christina in Alabang, the classic house they had someone rent for years after my uncle’s passing. I loved that house. So many memories… unfortunately, now, I just think it has this curse… You’ll find out why at the end of this post.

So, let me start this post with my funny lola :) I hope it made you smile! :)image

We basically got to Alabang exactly on time… or at least on our standards… I was still so amazed that I get to go back to a place where I had roughly 30% of my childhood, memories ranging from plucking my uncle’s white hair for a few bucks he’d spare to Adobo flakes and Bulgogi get togethers… I didn’t know many of the people there so I just sat down and joked around with lola and ate… DELICIOUS FOOD.

Cooler chest from an Italian winery my aunt purchased…

And this is basically for…

image

all of this…

image

to be turned into this…

image

Along with coke, a drink we always had during our get-togethers there.

image

And some homemade Panna Cotta…

image

And… wait for it… AUTHENTIC LECHON from Cabanatuan!

image

Which we basically devoured and turned into this…

image

After that, random shots while I wait for us to go to Balete (2nd house) in Alabang to call our relatives who are in the U.S. (I miss you, guys)

image

image

image

Had a fun chat with My cousin-in-law’s dad… learned a lot while laughing a lot!

image

Here is Auntie Sari who made the Panna Cotta and basically makes wonderful, hearty dishes you cannot refuse… literally… which is worth it. She’s serving us watermelon now :)

image

We then went to Balete to call our relatives. You’ve got to admire details put in by people who live in Alabang. So classy.

image

Cousin Nick, Char and Aunt Chiza on Skype. Did I mentioned we mistakenly called someone in Japan before we got connected to them.

image

Char, Uncle Les and Nick being goofy! Always such fun with the Austria side.

image

Kuya Nick, Jonathan, Shar, Char and aunt Dee. I really miss you guys!

image

.

After that, we went back to Ma. Christina and I got to have my reminiscing moments… It was very surreal for me.

.

I drowned in this beautiful pool when I was young…

image

Here’s the classic intercom long before shouting became a norm…

image

Do not be fooled… this ornament is older than you…

image

image

Here’s Sparky… My aunt’s dog. He’s just like a Chow, he always wants to be in a cold spot, i.e. under the table. lol.

image

A few laughs before I luckily was able to catch up with the equally wonderful Angeles clan in… guess where… Quezon City. Luckily My cousins were headed there too and, would you believe it, it was on the same street!

image

.

As with the Austria side, you can expect much munching in the Angeles side too.

.

Here’s what I ate… didn’t bother to know what I was eating. All that mattered was that it’s food (shame on me).

image

Here’s my dad with my Ninong Mike who is a real character. At one point, he asked me, “ano yan?” (“what’s that?”) referring to my Cravemore feather necklace. I said “Feather necklace po.” to which he replied “Yeah. I know. What’s the point?” to which, I could not and did not respond hahaha. I never thought of that. Well, I guess, it’s to add to how my outfit looked. You always have to present yourself well especially in the industry I’m trying to break in…

image

And here’s my cousin who we’re trying to always teach new things too because he’s very sheltered… when I say “sheltered”, I mean he can read one book a day kind of sheltered.

image

Anyways, before the what I wore portion, remember when I said I think the house was cursed? Well, here’s why… look at the man on the left…

image

He died last week, exactly the same way how my uncle died… he was not himself, he had pain in his stomach that would go for days and the vomiting of blood… yep… scary sheez right there… Please pray for his family…

.

Back on a happy note, finally, after all my yapping, here’s what I wore.

Hope you guys had a great Christmas and may you have spent it knowing that Christmas is all about Christ because it’s His birthday and not ours.  It’s not about the presents we get, it’s about what we have given to others as our offering to Christ :) So, Belated Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday to our Dad above, our Dad of love :)

Daddy Blues…

Okay… so I realized that I’ve been too chill about posting… haven’t posted anything a bit personal in a long time so let me post something for you guys.

I’ve been having problems with my dad… we aren’t really that close…

Brief History?

My dad left us when we were young and came back for us… as I’ve said, I always loved my dad and held nothing against him but he seems to think otherwise. So last week, he brought us to Starbucks and talked to us. My lolo had cancer and so he said that from it, he had come to certain realizations. I won’t go into details but, the summary of it is that he thinks that we have a superficial relationship with him… You could imagine my shock!

So me and my sister decided to consult some people close to us and close to our dad… one of which is Tita Michelle. I already mentioned her on my Florabel post before :D check it out (Hit Florabel on search on my menu):D So we set up a meeting with her. We had it last Sunday at Ayala Triangle at MoMo Cafe :D so before I reveal my realizations from our talk… let me share to you the MoMo Cafe Experience :D

My sister.. blurred out the image because I’m trying to avoid future stalkers because we’ve had experiences with stalkers already… not a good feeling to be carrying around :D

The excerpts from the Menu in all it’s chalky goodness :D

Was looking around and saw all these cool lights

it looked so awesome that I had to take a picture :D

Here’s one of the Chefs doing all the finishing touches on the scrumptious food :D

Here’s the drink my sister and I ordered, Peach iced tea! and since I’m such a fan of Iced tea (I always order bottomless if available) I have to say that so far, this is the best I’ve ever tasted to date :D

Here’s one of their free starters when you order; Toasted bread (looked like it was cut from a baguette) with High-class Cheese Pimiento which tasted like normal Pimiento so I dunno what the difference is besides the thickness hahaha!

We also ordered some vegetable sticks with potato skins and four cheese fondue :D unfortunately they ran out of potato skin so they gave us fries instead and since tita Michelle isn’t allowed to eat certain types of food including fries, we ate the fries and she ate the vegetable sticks :D

                                               another view :D

                                                    Top View :D

Tita Michelle ordered a Mango Shake :D

We then had their Momo Gourmet Salad :D

                                              plus some riblets :D

I was tasked to choose the last dish so I decided to go for  some Bolognese baked mac… I soooo love Bolognese to death and pieces hahaha! :D

Here’s the view from the top on my way down from the Restroom :D I kinda looked silly taking a picture because a lot of people from the second floor were staring :D

Here are the lights on the Ayala triangle… Awesome Light show!!!! O.O

awesome lights up on the trees on the other side of the park…

and here’s my sister with Tita Michelle… well, their silhouettes at least :D

Well now that I’ve shared my Momo experience let me share my realizations from our talk with Tita Michelle :D

I kinda realized that no matter how much I know about the situation and how much I think and know that I’m doing the right thing when it comes to my relationship with my dad and he doesn’t see it… in the end what will matter is his heart just like God. In the end it’s not about what we know but it’s about who He is… My dad loves us so much and I understand that he only wants the best out of our relationship to each other so even if I’m trying… I should make more efforts to show my dad how much I want to reciprocate my love for him :D

So there… my Christmas advice… Enjoy great food and enjoy thee company you have while devouring them this season and for all seasons especially your family and love them with all your heart because although they don’t really seem loving, believe me, they’re trying :D God bless you guys :D
